File: TTLibertyVillageExpress10072014 --- Getting through Toronto is no easy task, especially during rush hour. "It's really busy." "I think you could use a lot of improvement." "I always have to wait for another train just because it's so popular". "There's delays almost every day." To help ease congestion the TTC announced yesterday that two additional trains will run during rush hour, but how effective will this be? "The city can't really do much to make it better." Enter line six. A new type of transit launched this week in the form of an express bus route between Liberty Village and Union Station. "We want to come up with an alternative way for people to commute in the morning and just get around the city in general." The bus seats up to 24 people and makes seven trips daily during morning rush hour. The bus also offers guaranteed seating, wi-fi on board and flexibility for riders. "Part of the beauty of having a bus system and a bus network is that you can change it to meet demand." While the pilot ends this week, Line Six plans to expand. "The next step is to take this to other communities in the suburbs where commuting can take an hour and a half to get to work." After a comfortable 15-minute drive we've just arrived at Union Station from Liberty village on the Line six express. For Toronto Today, I'm Arianna Ongaro.
